History of Physics Database
Dear colleague,
We are pleased to introduce you to the new History of Physics database, a catalogue we created to collect the bibliographical data of almost all papers published in the last ten years concerning the History of Physics. The aim of this database is to help researchers finding up to date references on the topic in a simple way.
The catalogue has been made with the Microsoft Access software and we also include an Excel version of it. You can download both here. Once you open the Access file, you have to double left-click on “Journals” and “Papers” on the left side of the screen in order to open the tables. Once done, you will see all the data collected: the journals, how many issues and papers they have published in the last ten years, the papers’ title, authors, and all their bibliographical information.
If you want to make a specific search, you have to right click on a column (i.e., “title”, “author”, etc.) and click on the “search” option. Then a new window will show with some searching options. You have to type the word you are looking for (i.e., “Jackson” if you are looking for a particular author, or “Photon” if you want to find all papers containing that term in the title). Then, in the match list, select “Any part of Field” to obtain better results. You can also find some valuable tutorials on YouTube if you want to learn how to make better searches or how to use other functions.
Alternatively, you may access the catalogue as web pages by clicking on the buttons below.
This is the first version of the catalogue, and we are constantly working on improving it. If you have any questions or recommendations, please do not hesitate to contact us.
